Through Shirley Eichler, owner of the Ultimate Sewing Centre, more than 25 years of sewing experience has been given to the sewing industry.  Her specialty is in machine and serger manipulation.  Janome's research and development team often consult her for her input.  Shirley studied under Shirley Adams, Eleanor Burns and Judy Marrah.  Ultimate Sewing specializes in Janome Sewing Machines and Sergers, Wonderfil Threads, the highest quality quilting fabrics, a wide variety of sewing machine parts and sewing notions, service and repair on all makes and models of machines, and her famous and well attended sewing and quilting classes.

Two years ago, had anyone suggested to Shirley that she would open another "complete sewing center" her reply would have been "no way."  Well, almost 3 years after the closure of her Cobourg location and the recent closure of her Pickering partnership she is taking life by the horns and is going full steam ahead with a new location and business in Oshawa with the "Ultimate Sewing Centre", a one stop sewing resource centre for sewers and quilters. 

Shirley states, "Oh how I have missed it!  Seeing all those fabrics, stroking them on a daily basis, scanning through all the wonderful books, and teaching all those great classes.  Most of all, I missed the wonderful friends I made.  Sew here I am again and already I'm having the time of my life.  I've already met several great quilters and some potential quilters.

At any time, you'll be able to come in for help on a project regardless of where you purchased your machine or fabric.  We will not only focus on quilting, but also on garment, embellishment and décor.  We will have classes for all levels of sewers.  Most importantly, we will help you have fun with your projects!

We will carry parts and accessories for all makes and models of machines.  We will repair all makes and models of machines.  We will offer classes on all makes and models of machines.

When you take a class at the Ultimate Sewing Centre, we do not insist that you "purchase all supplies" from us.  I have a stash and I am sure you do too.  We appreciate you purchasing your supplies from us and encourage it by offering excellent discounts.  Purchasing your supplies from us will help to keep the cost of classes down as well, but we do not insist.  It is your option as to whether or not you want to bring your own machine.  You will definitely learn more on your own machine.

Speaking of free, make sure to mark Thursday, August 11th on your calendars!  This is our official Grand Opening of our new Oshawa location.  There will be ongoing demonstrations with the fabulous Jonny Seww and much more!
