Summer
2008
Here it is
end of June and before
long the kids will be home for summer. “Show Season” is over and
I must say as much as I love the shows and meeting new people, I
miss being in the store. I am always amazed that after 3
fantastic years here in Oshawa, people still don’t know about
us.
I must admit that along with the shows another reason I wasn’t
around much in May is that John, Alex and I went on a long
overdue vacation. We were invited by Janome to join Canada’s
Platinum Dealers in Cancun. Our vacation was fantastic. Hot,
relaxing and most importantly, we had some family time. Being a
Platinum dealer offers us many rewards that we are able to pass
onto you.
Let me share with you what’s happening this summer. Over the
next few months we will be adding several new colors to our
already extensive line of Cotton Broadcloth, we now carry Bamboo
and fusible batting and we are also adding several new appliqué
and quilting notions. It is very hard to keep track of new
notions, sew if you are looking for something we don’t carry,
let us know and we’ll get it in. Recently we brought in “Stable
Stuff” from Ricky Tims. This is an amazing stabilizer that when
left in your appliqué quilt after washing puffs up like trapunto.
MAGIC! If you get a chance, check out the quilt we have on
display.
July as always will be a busy time for us. Did you know that
July is the best time of the year to buy a machine? Just like
other industries, it’s a buyers market. Old models are leaving
at drastically reduced prices in order to make room for newer
models. Currently, we have the best of last year and this year
to offer at rock bottom prices.
Currently, we are preparing for our fall classes. Our Open House
is scheduled for Saturday, August 16th. Samples are being sewn
as we speak and schedules are being planned. Did you know that
you can request a private class for you and a group of friends?
What a great way to spend the day. If this is something that
interests you, please let us know by the end of July and we will
work it into the schedule.
Don’t forget….when the UV level is too high, come in and sew!
